Sol Y Luna Playschool is an international preschool dedicated to the care and teaching of children from birth to three years of age. We are situated in the Arturo Soria Zone of Madrid, only ten minutes walking distance from the metro, in a quiet residential area.

The modern purpose built facilities include: 4 classrooms, a gymnasium, lunchroom, 2 infant toilets and a magnificent 240m2 garden for the children to play in.
The outdoor play area is divided into two sections. The first is a 40m2 terrace for the youngest children where they can enjoy play time in a tranquil, safe area. Here they have their very own Wendy house, slide, seesaw and other toys.

The other play area measures 200m2 and is covered in safety flooring. Here the older children can enjoy a variety of play equipment and a sandpit

How we teach:

A child entering Sol y Luna Playschool at four months of age is spoken to only in English and is introduced to a few key words and phrases that act as the foundation stage for learning. The teacher centers her class programming on each child as an individual and dedicates a large portion of the time meeting the child’s basic needs, encouraging mobility, and creating a positive, loving, stimulating environment during this very important stage in a child’s life.

The year one and two children follow a class programme. The material is presented in a fun dynamic manner using puppets, DVD’s, art and music to reinforce learning. The activities are adapted to the age of each child and include the following:

  • Language
  • Pre math
  • Games
  • Painting
  • Music
  • Handicrafts
  • Physical education

Our Priorities:

Sol y Luna Playschool is a nursery licensed by the Comunidad de Madrid to teach the first cycle of infants, which includes children from 0-3 years of age.

The priorities of the school are threefold:

  • The first is that the school is a safe, happy, clean environment where children are cared for and taught as individuals; a place where the child feels at home and part of a large family. We teach them to respect and share with one another.

  • The second is that the needs of the child are met. To achieve this we promote language development/expression and their fine and gross motor coordination skills.

  • The third is that the child acquires independence in the activities of daily living; such as feeding oneself, toilet training and hygiene.
